DIGIFEST
You have a great opportunity to see some of the most interesting shows created for digital planetariums in Brno over the last year, probably for the first and last time. How so? Because on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2024, there is an event not to be missed – DigiFest 2024.
A few days before DigiFest, the ninth edition of Fulldome Festival Brno will take place – an international film showcase where planetarium enthusiasts from all over the world come together to watch and judge the latest productions on the planetarium market. A total of 38 programmes will be shown, with a cumulative length of 15 hours. The shortest is 3 minutes, the longest 45 minutes.
After the professional festival, the DigiFest is next, whose programme has been compiled by the staff of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium from a selection of the programmes that most interested them and will be complemented by four films that will win awards at the Fulldome Festival Brno. Of course, the winners are not known until the last minute.
The special award of the director of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium goes to the programme, which is subsequently presented in the Czech version in the Brno Planetarium. The Audience Award is chosen not only by planetarium staff and manufacturers, but also by the planetarium producers themselves – in our case over 160 visitors from 22 countries. The other two awards are in the hands of the international jury of experts of the Fulldome Festival Brno 2024.
